A frequent question asked about the houseboat is, ‘don’t
you find it cold?’
When on board during autumn and winter months, the stove burns smokeless coal and seasoned wood. Solid fuel stoves provide
the driest of heat, irradiating any damp and condensation boats are notoriously
known for.
At other times, an electric, low voltage tube heater
is used. This provides just enough heat to protect the books, linen and other
belongings. We also lift some of the floor boards and open cupboard doors.
