HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Ship to shore to stores

It's been an incredibly hectic few days as we decanted every loose item (including a Kermit the Frog bag) from the houseboat to storage in a loft. Motor boats transported the crates and the team wore Wellington boots to wade through flood waters.

Heather is now laid up in a boat shed at prestigious Landamores boatbuilders, while a comprehensive marine survey is completed ~ and she is prepared for scheduled repairs and painting. These works form a key part of major plans to safeguard the houseboat as a dedicated community and conservation organisation.
