HEATHER
Welcome to Heather
Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.
Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.
Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Free rein for wind, wildfowl and water dwellers
With restrictions in place for any craft other than residential boats and essential service personnel; the rivers at Easter time are probably quieter now than at any time since World War Two ~ when martial law prevented public use of the waterways. As the breeding season begins, the peaceful atmosphere is perfect for nature to bloom.
Once again, the wild call of goose can be heard over the clatter of human noise. Swans and ducks paddle the waters, unhindered by throngs people usually found hereabouts in spring.
Emma
"Like a symphony of Beethoven the call of the goose is everlasting, and those who have loved it can never tire of hearing it".
Morning Flight, Peter Scott, 1935
