HEATHER
Welcome to Heather
Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.
Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.
Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Victory across Europe 75 in the capital of Broadland
Throughout World War 2 the village riverside was quiet. Behind the boat shed doors however ~ and across the surrounding farms and fields, work continued steadily. Most of the boatyards turned their hands to building and fitting out fair sized military craft such as motor torpedo boats, as well as other equipment.
The efforts of wartime boatyards and service personnel are commemorated over the next few days. A series of local made pennants and flags are strung across the old wharves, near to where the lofty, blackened granary building once stood ~ bringing some cheer to the lonely waterfront.
In the evening part of the side of Wroxham Hotel was floodlit with red, white and blue, courtesy of Nick South.
