The television programme Highway was filmed in 1990 around Broadland. Reflecting a more harmonious time, the series focussee on faith and localised character and was presented by avuncular former Goon Sir Harry Secombe.
Pleasure Wherry saviour and skipper Peter Bower, Eric Edwards the jovial marshman of How Hill and the Broads Chaplain make appearances. Middle English music is played by Norwich Waits, a band performing a moving tune from the middle ages dressed in woollen garb ~ and classical actor Michael Gough reads Dancing Reeds, a nature poem by Naturalist Ted Ellis.
Peter Bower interviewed while sailing Wherry HATHOR says "holiday makers are the bread and butter of the area".
