HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Best foot forward

Paul, Edward, Chris and Carol with Jeffrey the placid German Shepherd collectively came to the rescue of a mute swan.

Earlier in the day a family who were visiting the riverside noticed the cob's (male) awkward moves as he walked about the bird feeding arena. After inspection the leg and foot was felt very warm to the touch, compared to the coldness of the right foot and leg.

The swan was taken to a wildlife rescue sanctuary, where investigations revealed an infected cut. He was put on anti inflammatories and antibiotics. The limping swan is expected to make a full recovery.
