The female (pen) mute swan who was involved in a boating accident was recently repatriated to the River Bure at Hoveton~Wroxham. She was released from a crate by team members of Marine and Wildlife Rescue who helped nurse her back to health.
The occasion was filmed by a camera crew from BBC News East. In the televised interview Dan Goldsmith from MWR discussed the impact lifting of Avian Flu restrictions for captive birds across the UK would have on wildlife.
Coincidently as the pen was released a group of newly born greylag baby goslings accompanied by mallard ducks entered the channel leading from the river into Hoveton Riverside Park.
After finding freedom on the open water, the swan found her feet again waddling around the verdant King's Head Hotel greens.
