HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Broadway comes to Broadland

Hoveton and neighbouring Wroxham played host to a film production company early on Friday morning.

A large electric motor launch with a relatively quiet motion previously used by ITV news was chartered from Wroxham Launch Hire. The star boat however was a luxury blue hulled tiller steered motor launch designed by famed local yacht designer Andrew Wolstenholme. Named after her home base, she belongs to the charming Norfolk Mead Hotel situated by water meadows in Coltishall.

While on his morning walk by the Free Moorings in Hoveton, Bobby the boat dog greeted members of the production crew and the raconteur Scots actor and director Alan Cumming, as he sat in the stern of the launch. The production team held a prep meeting, while they drank coffees picked up from Oh Crumbs on the High Street.
