HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Bronzed goose

Every so often an old proverb or saying is recalled. In art circles this is sometimes called meaning and metaphor ~

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird...

Proverbs 1:17~33 New King James Bible

The new version of the bible in English was published in 1611, only a few years before the present Wroxham Bridge was built.

A new badge has been meticulously devised by Andrew. The house banner features the badge ~ a striding greylag, the noble native goose, with a fringe in tawny (deep orange) on a black (sable) field.
