Selfless swan rescue

Three mute swans were picked up from the river after they were reported to wildlife rescue agencies. Paul, the selfless swan specialist came down to Hoveton~Wroxham to look for the birds who were bound up with angling paraphernalia.

Some time was spent searching aboard a motorised dory from Wroxham Launch Hire, helmed by a steward. The swan is checked to see if the fine cord and associated hooks and floats have made any serious injuries. Fortunately, with some scissors then neat pliers and a dose of courage, the swan was freed of gear and released back to join the colony.

Proceeds to Heather Emporium waterside booths helps keep the wonderful waterfowl on the Upper River Bure in fine fettle. Thank you kindly for your support.

Chris
