HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Perilous state of pigeons

Carol conducted a sweep of the pigeon flock who live around the riverside quarter of Hoveton. An animal carrier was used to temporarily house some dodgy specimens found amongst the hungry wet birds.

As well as bad cases of viral canker infections, some of the pigeons had their legs and feet with three clawed digits bound with twine.

Carol explains: "The last photograph doesn't show just how awful the injury is, but he will potentially have a better recovery than those with extremely deep pressure sores like the first one, poor little guys."

Custom food for pigeons and waterfowl can be found at outlets along the High Street in Hoveton ~ including The Bridge Gift Shop, Grey's Fudge Factory and Number 14 Cafe.
