HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Tidal surges of the North Sea (Morimaru)

Seasonal floodwaters wash over Broadland. Sections of Hoveton Riverside Walk are submerged, as are other routes in low lying parts of Hoveton and Wroxham near the River Bure. Please be aware, it is advisable to wear gum boots.

The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

Psalm 93:3
King James Bible

* Version of the Bible published a few years before building of the present Wroxham Bridge; when small hand crafted wooden carts rolled over the bridge ~ long before mega metal juggernauts thundered along the King's highways.
