HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Open markets

Andrew and Chris met up in the West Riding of Yorkshire and browsed the incredible Kirkgate Market halls in the old cloth city of Leeds.

In the grand original temple like market hall slender green columns rise up to a lofty glazed roof, while fearsome scarlet dragons keep guard over traders and browsing punters. An exhibition stall celebrates the very first Marks and Spencer Penny Bazaar which launched nearby at the zenith of the Victorian age. Polish street hawker Mr Marks (akin to Roys founder Arnold) joined forces with a secondary option business partner Skipton book keeper Mr Spencer ~ proving mishaps and humble outsiders can help progress things.

Markets are a crucial part of many towns. Hopefully one day a regular open market with a pleasant selection of stalls offering a choice of wares will return to the centre of Hoveton and Wroxham.
