HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Rubber duck trucking

Carol of Wroxham by the Bure and Sydney on the Parramatta River, Australia holds a novelty rubber duck sporting a woolly hat by the front of the waterfowl welfare truck.

Presently, the blue~green bird rescue truck and water bird food booth is situated on a corner of Hoveton Granary Staithe; where maritime, wildlife and hospitality merge on the popular public square by the bridge.

The alternate side of the truck is stocked with rescue equipment for birds and other animals, including nets, carrying holdall, cutting tools and safety and cleaning gear. This facility is accessible to stewards and any wildlife rescue personnel. As part of the evolving project information boards explaining about the water birds, wildlife and surrounding riverside will be created.
