HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Swan trailing

Wildlife veteran Paul was on the lookout for a mute swan on the River Bure around Wroxham Bridge whose neck was stooping down to one side.

There had also been reports to Wild Touch Wildlife Rescue by a lady who saw a pair of swans caught up in angling line. Thankfully and curiously, one of birds yanked the line off the other, thus liberating the duo from their fleeting bondage.

Paul said: "Another swan was caught at Potter Heigham with line round his tongue and bill. Got it off ok and released him. Been a big swan day today!"

Last year Paul clocked up 52 thousand miles on the road going to aid members of the animal kingdom. Unusually, in the current age of multi media and some may say overt self interest, Paul modestly shirks all praise and merit for these deeds.

Thanks kindly to Wroxham Launch Hire for use of an electric launch.
