Duckling and bearded dragon ~ curious gendering

Photo and bearded dragon details courtesy of Richard

Byork the bearded dragon encounters a novelty duckling from the Hoveton riverbank.

Many creatures in the animal kingdom, such as real life ducks can be difficult to sex. Bearded dragons possess hemipenal bulges on each side of the tail base. A single central bulge is male and a pair of bulges are female.

Curiously in the moulding of the Italian made plastic duck, a curled tail feather is clearly visible. This is said to be a tell tale sign of a male drake duck; however, males can lose their curly tail feathers.
