HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Tinkling the ivories

A new addition to the boats' inventory is rather bizarrely a smaller, but weighty yacht piano forte. The piano has an oak case made by E Woods of Norwich around 1930 and was previously kept by a lady piano teacher in the city.

Presently stored at Catfield, we plan to have it cleaned and re tuned, ready for the 2014 season. There is just enough room in the after well ~ with the amount of gear on board, Heather can sometimes seem like a TARDIS. If anybody knows the history of the piano, we'd like to hear from you.

Chris
