HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Orange Pomanders for Christmas

We’ve been making orange and lemon pomanders for Christmas on the houseboat. Spiced pomanders are attractive and sweet scented decorations for the home and they're simple to make. We used some unripe oranges from a grocery stall on North Walsham market and cloves, kept in a sealed jar that has hung around for years. Pomander balls can be suspended with ribbons or placed in a bowl ~ a modern twist on a custom dating from the Middle Ages.
