HEATHER
Welcome to Heather
Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.
Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.
Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

In touch with the wildlife
During the busy summer holiday period, we made a brief visit to Wild Touch Wildlife and Rescue Centre, hidden away in Ridlington near North Walsham. Formerly the base of the Seal and Bird Rescue Trust, the day to day running of the centre is managed by a committed, caring team. A host of injured and increasingly abandoned creatures are looked after through the course of the year. Birds are probably the primary occupants, including gaudy looking Muscovy ducks, with scarlet bills.
In addition to this, Wild Touch provides an outreach educational service, with displays and animal encounters for organisations and personal events. Animals can also be trained for roles in film, photography and other art forms.
Detailed training is offered to animal aficionados with time to lend a practical hand. A group of ladies swapped dealing with insurance in Norwich to happily muck in renovating the enclosures ~ home to a menagerie of sedate serpents, plucky geese, sprightly deer and lively hens.
