HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Profiling mute swans

Some friends of the houseboat have made a large silhouette profile of a mute swan, with reclaimed materials. Such cut out birds were originally used by wildfowlers out on the marshes.

The creation of this swan silhouette and its placement on the wharf is part of a wider harmonious art and educational project, aiming to connect people with river nature, heritage and culture.
