HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Wholesome blended food for waterfowl

Many local water birds ~ especially mute swans and ducks are semi domesticated, having being looked after by humans for at least a thousand years. The present day ancestors of these ancient waterfowl are now reliant on our care. We have consulted widely with waterfowl organisations, wildlife sanctuaries and a microbiologist to establish the most appropriate food mixture.

Here at the wharf we use a nutritious blend of grains, vegetables and pellets, all sourced from the Norfolk~Suffolk area. The mixture of fish, crustaceans, vitamins and proteins replicate as near as possible the natural diet of water birds. 100g bags to go are available from the wharf booth, plus larger paper and reusable cloth bags can be obtained and posted, or delivered locally through the online shop: www.wharfemporium.co.uk
