HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Suffin down ta lokes

There are some wonderful walks around the riverside staithes, including quite hidden paths by the railway embankments in Hoveton, delightfully obscured by the blooming cow parsley.

The title above is composed of authentic local dialect words spoken in Norfolk. Translated as ~ Something down the lanes. The Friends of Norfolk Dialect is an organisation established in 1999 to help preserve, celebrate and continue the use of this priceless language and culture.
