An adolescent mute swan with a dark grey coloured bill from last year's brood was observed below Wroxham Bridge in a very uncomfortable state with her back caked in dried blood and something contorted on the bill.
Paul came and collected the distressed bird in the evening. She was whisked away to a sanctuary to receive urgent treatment.
