This well known 1902 picture postcard shows a combined scene of industrial, domestic and leisure happenings on the quays around Wroxham Bridge.
An Edwardian pleasure wherry is berthed nose down river along the front of Granary Staithe, Hoveton. Note the series of thatched sheds with a washing line of bed linen drying. The tall chimney on the other side of the High Street belonged to Horace Howlett's steam roller mill. Coincidentally, the millers produced grain and seed for livestock, birds and the like.
