HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Heralding a new Carolean age

Ancient King's Staithe, home of Wroxham Launch Hire lined with pennants ~ set up using friendly cooperation between riverside businesses

Hoveton~Wroxham is decorated with red, white and blue and other paraphernalia for the Coronation of King Charles III ~ the first King crowned since 1937. Seventy years previously preparations were underway for young Queen Elizabeth's anointing.

Flying colourful flags were formerly characteristic of the riverside. Boatyard and outlets along the streets and byways of Hoveton and adjoining Wroxham all had their own identity. They were both marketing tools and helped to indicate wind direction, which is very important when navigating boats.
