HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Public space art in ports

As part of the Eurovision Song Contest organised every year by the European Broadcasting Union, the host place usually stages a series of artistic events. The grand old Lancashire port city of Liverpool has a sequence of attractive inflated installations of soloveiko or nightingale songbirds placed on water around the centre of the city. Renowned for political machinations, often to great comical effect, the singing festival nevertheless gives much joy to many around the globe.

Hoveton~Wroxham was formerly a hot bed of creative activity. There have been art galleries and even murals around the streets in previous times. Perhaps the arts can be once again revived in the waterside villages...
