Swan park

In an instant life throws up unexpected things and it is sometimes difficult to know how to deal with them. On Tuesday a dazed and lame looking female mute swan was seen wondering along the edge of the riverside centre car park in Hoveton.

She was swiftly collected making sure the wings were kept closed. Upon closer inspection the back of neck was sore, most likely caused by a male mauling her. The eyes were also opaque, possibly from fighting ~ and there was also a wound on the breast. Wildlife rescuer Paul drove over from Norwich and took her to be accessed by a veterinarian.
