HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Heather at Crabbett's

Heather was for a few years berthed at Crabbett's Marsh between Black Horse Broad,  Hoveton and Horning Lower Street. The superstructure was painted a buff colour towards the end of her charter life.

John and Simone Royall moved her to their plot close to the River Bure in 1986 after saving her from the likely fate of destruction at the former Turner's Boatyard.
