HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Birds a cropper

It isn't only big fancy well~known birds who can come a cropper. A feral pigeon was found soaked and really skinny, but has a half full, doughy crop.

The crop is a muscular pouch which is part of the esophagus (or gullet, the organ pipe where food passes through). It stores food temporarily before the digestion process begins and the food moves to the stomach.

Slowly and surely, in the custody of Carol, the pigeon will hopefully make a recovery.
