In mornings as winter draws in and the skies are greyer, mute swans mistakenly fly low, mainly down river in a south easterly direction.
Wroxham Bridge is a buffer ~ the birds occasionally crash land on the road or foot bridges causing disorientation. Fortunately, some drivers, or nearby residents, business people, or visitors help herd the swans back to the river at the gated edge of Granary Staithe by the bridge. Last week one fiesty swan made the decision to jump back down on the River Bure, with an almighty splash, almost like a circus act.
