HEATHER

Welcome to Heather

Houseboat of character, docked in Hoveton by the River Bure on the Norfolk Broads Waterways.

Heather is cared for by a partnership of friends and family. Our aim is to preserve the distinctive style of the houseboat and enable future generations to enjoy her charms.

Explore the riverside, browse the shops and places to eat and drink ~ and much more beyond monumental Wroxham Bridge.

Art around and about

Art in public spaces can have quite an impact on our senses. Along the riverside walk by the boardwalk in Hoveton, a pink and blue pineapple by a local artist is painted on the drab nineteenth century blue~black bricks of the railway viaduct. Pineapples and other exotic fruit have been a popular subject for artists and craftsmen since the 18th century.

There is a perpetual debate about graffiti art of this kind. In carefully considered locations and a good deal of imagination and cooperation between peer groups, art can be very positive.
